Discover the Manitoba Highland Gathering!
Since 1960, the Manitoba Highland Gathering has been a cornerstone of Manitoba's rich Scottish culture, thriving as a beloved celebration that remains as vibrant as ever. Travel MB recognized it as one of the top ten rural festivals, and the American Bus Association listed it among the top 100 events in North America. This event is not to be missed!
MHG dedicated volunteers—from youth to seniors—work passionately to preserve, promote, and share the vibrant tapestry of Scottish culture, heritage, arts, sports, and agriculture. Join us for a family-friendly outdoor experience, complete with a rain venue to ensure the fun continues, no matter the weather.
Be a part of the celebration and immerse yourself in the colourful traditions of Scotland, including travelling through time with our villages. Come dressed in the costume of the period of Scottish History of your choice. Wear a wee bit of Tartan. Explore your genealogy with the Manitoba Genealogical Society and the Clans. The re-enactment and living history groups are offering to help you with ideas on making your authentic costume.
Participate and witness the Sword Championships, Paddling Championship, Highland Dance Competition, Pipes & Drums Competition, Heavy Games Competition, Scottish market…and more.
